This may be a stupid question but... How do I use these filters, if they're open for the public to use? I'm rather new to inkscape, and I've been trying to figure out how to make smoke, and this filter seems perfect.

Sorry for the late reply. Just checked in a long time. Yes they're open for public use. You can use it by copying the object that has the filter (in this case the smoke) to the file you're working on. The filter will then appear in your filter editor (Filters>Filter Editor). Select object and apply from there. Hope that help! :D
